There have been times when I have driven through one of these new moderately wealthy suburban house developments – street after street filled with homes with huge garages, immaculate landscaping, a complete lack of mature trees, siding colors ranging from light milky gray to dark milky gray, no back yard, about 15 feet between it and the next home, and nearly identical to the next home (in an area which used to be pleasant prairie) – that I have almost gotten physically ill. It’s the milky grayness that gets me, I think.
