Don’t think, when the person you are debating (whether it is your friend, your online adversary, or your wife (especially your wife)) is quiet after your last witty remark, that you have necessarily scored a big point. He/she may be mulling, ignoring, stewing, or taking his/her time with her response. Or maybe she needs a break.
