With an Infinite God, You can have it both ways. You have real free will and God is really in control of everything that happens in the universe.

Five more words: Your admonition rouses my curiosity.

Okay, 47 more words to quell your curiosity: The admonition could be taken in several directions, but lately I have been bothered by people who have made fun of behavior that they think is funny, but I think should be honored.
This kind of mocking might cause others to be more favorably disposed to sin.

Now having read your comment, I’ll add this. I don’t know if I should because I thought your post on the God shout outs was very funny, and many of the comments were, too. But some of the comments sounded like they weren’t kidding. I thought you were trying to say that we shouldn’t expect people to always sign off with a spiritual closing, but some of the commenters made it sound like anyone who closes a note with a Scripture or spiritual closing of some kind is trying to sound super-spiritual and it should be avoided. Hope I’m not being too negative about it, but those kinds of comments bugged me since I find Scriptures or blessings at the end of a note very encouraging when I read them.

This was something I was a little nervous about as I wrote it. I too am bothered when people suggest that spiritual sounding people are always fake. I’m hoping another guest post I make there might come from the other angle.

I think the way you wrote it was just fine, and it does beg for the other side to be told. I actually thought of writing a post for the “let my life tell the Gospel and wait for them to ask” folks. However, I’m only funny when I’m not trying to be, so I’m not the one to write it. It would be fun to see what you come up with–or maybe you had something else in mind.
